Sample of a Business Resume As a Model, Not As a Resume Template
A sample of a business resume will help you write the resume that will get you interviews. By following the sample resume as a model rather than filling in someone else's resume template, you can write a resume that will grab a recruiter's attention.
How Not to Use a Resume Template
Bottom line: You want your resume to look like you, not like every other person that downloaded a sample resume to fill in. Recruiters and hiring managers will know you filled in a sample of a business resume rather than writing your own. Because they want to find exceptional candidates with originality and problem-solving skills, they'll be happy to pass on you.
Simply, stated, do not copy someone else's language. The templates that simply provide you a sample resume to fill in will not necessarily meet your specific job goals and objectives. Your amazing accomplishments are your own; write about what makes you great.
A Better Use for Resume Templates
Language
When you are looking at a sample of a business resume, think about what makes you want to read more about the person. You can incorporate similar techniques in your own resume, but don't copy. These types of samples can give you an idea of the type of language that will communicate your best accomplishments.
If you are struggling to figure out what will make great resume fodder, as yourself the following questions:
* What was your hardest project, and what did you do that made it successful?
* How did your work on some project help you or someone else do their job better
* Of which project are you most proud? Why are you proud of it?
* What would your boss (colleague, subordinate) say about projects that really helped them out?
By answering these questions specifically, you will choose the best parts of your career history that hiring managers and recruiters want to know about you. You will demonstrate that you have a terrific track record-and you will show how you can hit the ground running on your first day of work.
Resume Format
Resume templates can, on the other hand, help you choose a format your resume. If you have a great career history without significant gaps, find a reverse-chronological sample of a business resume. If you are changing careers, find a functional-hybrid resume template.

ReplyDeleteyou're using? I'm looking to start my own blog soon but I'm having a difficult time making a decision between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I'm looking for something
completely unique. P.S Apologies for getting off-topic but I had
